Ambient Systems joins Open Telematics Alliance 13 August 2009 Enschede (NL), 13 August 2009 - Ambient Systems, the global pioneer in dynamic wireless sensor network solutions, has announced its membership of the Open Telematics Alliance (www.opentelematics.info). The Open Telematics Alliance (OPTA) is an international association to define and develop standardized interfaces for telematics applications within the rail industry.
OPTA is a non-profit association, founded in 2008 by the ICT Innovation and Evaluation Center of DB Systel GmbH. The primary focus is to enhance and maintain the open telematics interface (opti). OPTA creates a platform and community for all future enhancements of the protocol and will ensure interoperability by means of an open industry standard with a high potential for the future.
